Description:

Russian Maks have come a long way from having somewhat of a cult-like status to entering mainstream amateur astronomy. The optics in these instruments have always been world class, but some have opted to avoid the "risk" due to long cooldown times often associated with Maks of days gone by. That was then, this in now. The optics are still superb, but what a difference a few years can make in tube design.
Today's Maks include many design features which make cooldown a relative non-issue compared to days of old. Both passive and active systems are now standard equipment, along with a host of other changes made that have eliminated issues that made earlier models a bit less than user friendly.
Zero image shift focusing systems, built-in grab handles, improved fasteners, easy to use and accurate collimation adjustments, much better focusers, and quick release mechanisms are all there. Come see why Russian Maksutov optics gained their status to begin with. There's no better bang for the buck to found anywhere.
