Duchek Consulting Services make the best Telrad Finder Charts out there probably because I made them for my own use. I wanted to get beyond the Messiers and so I combined the Messiers, Caldwell, Saguaro 110 best NGCs and the Royal Astronomical Society's finest NGC objects into one 46 page book. 305 of brighter, better deepsky objects. How well does it work?
I just finished working on the AL list "binocular Messiers" To do that you need 50 Messier Objects. Using my 25x100 Celestron binoculars with a Rigel finder mounted on it, I completed 59 Messier Objects in 4-5 hours over 2 evenings 6 months apart. I also took a peek at a few of the non-Messier objects as I went through the book. Do the math. That is 15 objects/hour. A GOTO scope wouldn't have found them much faster.
If you want to spend less time finding, and more time looking, but don't want to take a computer with you, try our Telrad Finder charts. We now have 5
The Messiers,
The Best 300,
Milky Way Globular Clusters
200 Bright Planetary Nebulae
The Herschel 400
