| Dear fellow Amateur Astronomers, I am in need of your advice and assistance in solving the following problem: After many avid years of naked-eye sky-watching, my grandmother was given a Celestron C102-HD telescope, which delighted her. Most regrettably, the tripod was overturned by stong winds on the scope's otherwise very successful maiden voyage, and the primary lens was knocked off and damaged. If there is any way to refinish or replace the lens, or otherwise recover the telescope's functionality, or to trade it as an ATM project for any other scope, I would be very pleased to know it. Thank you very much for your kind consideration. Regards, A Visitor |

| Hi, You could try emailing Celestron with the information and seeing what it would cost to repair. Also, we have a "classifieds" section where you can put it up for sale...if you like. There are various lens manufacturers available that can not only make new lenses, but regrind/repair the original. A simple matter of googling and you should be able to find a few. It'll take a bit of work, but you need to find out whether the price to fix is worth it on an older scope. best regards,
