Default well darn....

On my home page I have a link called weather that shows a bunch of different satellite views as well as a clear sky clock..and if you click some of them they'll give you a ten day forecast.
So, I look and see that it should be clear for the first four hours or so.
I happily sit down with the Sky 6 and make a new fov indicator for my Nikon Lens to see how much I can image of the christmas tree/rosette area...and maybe some of Orion....I'm really excited to plan the night out.
I go out to open the OBS and happen to look up....nothing but clouds....talk about a major let down....all my weather stuff lied.

And they say there will be global warming in 100+years....hell, they can't even get the clouds right for tonight.

well, time to reprocess some stuff........

We've got to figure out a way to do something about these clouds.

I was focusing the other night using software but manually operating the focuser. No matter what I did the focus just kept getting worse and worse.

After several minutes I finally looked up. A think mist was rolling in. No matter what I did with the focuser that star was getting bigger and bigger

Ken, I've done the same thing......kept getting worse.....reset the camera, check the lens to make sure the heaters are on......and then finally actually look up....clouds.....doh!!!!

Ken,

Did you ever get that high powered laser working?? You know, the one that can "burn" a hold right through the clouds??

I think that it would be quite useful in Florida and over there in Oregon just for Bud!!

As I considered this more seriously I realized the fatal flaw in my master plan - sweeping out a sector of the sky sufficient for the FOV I'd need is hopeless.
