Default DIY Piggyback rail and ring mount.

Ladies and gents,
there is yet another DIY on the A.S.I.G.N. Observatory website. It's a rail and ring mount for a piggyback telescope, on top of your main scope.

In this case I have selected an APO ED 80, with a 90mm diameter OTA, but the dimensions can be changed to suit any size scope.

The job is about 3/4 of the way through and I should have it finished by the end of the week.

Cheers,

Baz.

Thumbs up Re: DIY Piggyback rail and ring mount.

Nicely done, Barry! I admire the "can do" spirit of you Ozzies and your Kiwi next door neighbors. Gary Beal told me that DIY is kind of built into your backbones, as what you can get locally is really pricey and importing is even more so. Plus, you get the satisfaction of saying, "I made that". Good on ya, mate!

So, how are you coming with the prototype of the A.S.I.G.N. ccd camera? Inquiring minds want to know...

Cheers, and CDS!
Bob

I think I will have to work on knowing how to use the Canon before I attempt making my own mate! LOL

Hi folks,

I have just completed the "Average Handyman" version of DIY scope rings.

Have a look at the step-by-step instructions and photos.

The advanced version is still in the machine and yet to be completed. I will keep you posted.
