Sorry Bryan, I sent you a PM but in case you did not get it I wanted to post here as well. I will try to control myself next time but when you have such a disstaste for someone its hard to lay low about it. I am sure there are a great deal of others that feel the same way but are afraid or unwilling to voice there opinions. I wll behave from now on I promise.

He is amazing. I was a dealer and was kicked off for saying (on my website) that I could no longer afford to pay his rates. So much for free speech. Then he kicked my wife off, apparently because she knew me. She never got a reason, just a "you're history" 2 days after he kicked me off. I sure would be pleased to see herb be "history"

It's interesting to note that his associated store, Anacortes, has been replaced on Meade's website list of the "Big Eight" by an up and coming astronomy store....Skies Unlimited....This leads me to believe the people are getting the message about him and his uncaring ways.

I got a similar email from him stating that I was history. He seems to get his jollys by kicking people off his site for any reason he can think of. I find it interesting that he kicked off your wife as well. Nice guy huh?

Ahh, this site is a nice find.

I?ve heard about the unpleasant communication skills from the power that is at Astromart, but have never experienced it.

I was on A?mart for awhile and bought about 12 things (didn?t sell anything), and had some nice positive comments. Suddenly, my ISP was blacklisted, and I became instantly unwelcome, receiving an e-mail saying my account had been deleted, please re-register if I would like to continue. I e-mailed a couple of times, asking if there was any way to modify my previous account (to keep the comments), but had no response at all. I tried to register again later, and came up against their $12 fee, and decided it wasn?t worth it.

I look forward to having a good look around this place!

By the way, if anyone from the UK contacts you about a classified ad, take pity on us? We pay a fortune over here!

I have not been very active lately in astronomy as I just returned from a third tour in Iraq. I was hoping for prisitine dark skies at night but suprisingly, there is so much dust in the upper atmosphere that limits the views.

I had a few run-ins with the guy that owns AM and unfortunately they were not pleasant. Like someone already said, he would shoot off one word answers and was very rude. I guess his attitude is that we need him more than he needs us. I am very happy to have found this website as I have no need to support and pay for someone as rude as he was to me.

What is even more interesting is that this site is sponsored by 3 large dealers that sell some of the same equipment. I have had done business with 2 of the dealers here and have had excellent service.

The latest bite out of my wallet from "free" astromart: If you change any of your information (email address, password, etc) you get to pay the $12 initiation fee again. You know Herb and Anacortes don't sell anything that isn't sold elsewhere. Does that free really mean that Herb is free to be a pain it the.....
