Another Astromart Victim

Well the title says it all,, I have just been banned from Astromart for not having a credit card,, ? go figure

I decdied a few years ago that we really did not need a credit card to get on with life, I own and run my own successful air-conditioning company with no card and use paypal for things I need to buy on a personal level.

I owe nothing to anyone and have no debt but thats not good enough for Herb.

Herbs reasons are simple, as I did not have a credit card and could not pay to change my e-mail account address ($12), I had no vaild e-mail address (besides the point I was e-mailing him the new address about the change and what could be done), I did offer an alternative way of paying but that was not acceptable only credit card. so I found myself banned, thats life I suppose.

It seems to me that Herb has lost the plot and has become like the other thread suggests a bit of a dictator and prehaps a little paranoid.

Anyway I am glad to be here and look forward to a more productive time.

I signed up last week and paid 12 bucks for the site but I haven't heard anything. They don't even have a "contact us" so that I can call to find out why it takes too long to get my account activated! What's next???

I'd check your spam filter. Call your card company and see if the charge hit. If not try again. Then try: support@astromart.com.

Join the club! I run a small astronomy business and complained about him doubling the fees. What needs to be done is to get more folks posting their classified ads on other sites. How one does that is the question. Cloudy nights has pretty many posts. This site is high quality, but doesn't seem to get people posting. I would love to help it become more active.

Thanks for all the posts, I just felt let down even though I was up front and personal

The silly thing is, I have been with Astromart from the beginning and it only became a problem when they introduced charges for people to join,, Credit card owner ship is not a must have in life, I do not see why I should need one just to get on AM,, Like i said I did offer to pay another way but that just was not exceptable, Herb just did not want to listen, I was more of a hinderance than a fellow Astronomer.

I blame Anacortes of which I understand he is part owner. No employer would put up with him. I don't buy there anymore.

The owner of Anacortes Telescopes and Wild Bird (ATWB) also is the owner and chief administrator of Astromart. You may be able to reach Astromart by first calling ATWB.
