I don't own a pair, but I borrowed a pair recently but could not get used to the individual focus, hand holding, quick looksee... very hard,
anything other than tripod mounted astronomy (I didn't try ) isn't easy.
I much preferred my Canon 15x50's IS

Great pair of binos as long as you can tripod mount them. Forget about hand holding these babies as they are heavy and at 16x mag, image shake will result.

They have outstanding optics and are nitrogen purged so you don't have to worry about them fogging up internally.

I personally have the 10x70 fuji's which are much more mangagable but its still nice to tripod mount them for night time viewing...

The Fujinon FMT-SX 16x70 is an excellent binocular, both mechanically as well as optically. In my opinion, at its current price, it is a bargain.

If you are serious about buying one, however, I would strongly recommend appropriate mounting for it in order for you to get the most out its performance. It is too big, awkward, and heavy to effectively hand hold it.

Best of luck to you!

I owned the 10X70s many years ago and they were probably the best giant binocular I've used, and I've used many. I don't think you can possibly go wrong here. The Fujinon giant binocular line is really tailored to the needs of amateur astornomers.
