| I am currently using a Canon Digital Rebel XTi and am therefore limited to a maximum exposure time of 30 seconds. For other EOS cameras, the TC-80N3 Timer Remote Control is a solution to that problem. But the Canon site doesn't list that control as being compatible with the XTi and my local Canon dealer tells me it isn't and that there isn't a solution to timed photography for the XTi. Help!!!

| I "solved" this problem by getting an RS60-ES, which is basically a hand-operated switch. Not nearly as handy as the TC-80N3 would be, but it at least makes exposures of more than 30 seconds possible. I have to switch the camera to Bulb mode manually (the EOS software control won't do it) but, after releasing the shutter release, the EOS software does automatically download the exposure.

| I have a TC-80N3 that was modified by Hap Griffin. Works like a charm. You buy a TC-80N3, send it to Hap, and he cuts it, puts in a male and female connector and makes a cable for the XTi using a 2.5mm male jack. Mike |

| Another way to go is to leave the TC80N3 intact, and there is a person who creates an adapter. You plug the unmodified TC80N3 into the adapter at one end, and the other end goes into any of the three Canon Digital Rebel models (original, XT and XTi, or as the models are known in Europe 300D, 350D, 400XTi) http://www.werbeagentur.org/oldwexi/TC80N3.html It cost $31. You pay through PayPal. It comes first class mail. With this adapter, I have used an unmodified Canon TC80N3 with a Canon Digital Rebel. If I should ever upgrade to another Canon model, I can just unplug the adatper. Hap's solution is also very good, I am sure. My camera was modified my Hap, and I am very pleased with the results! |

| Both ImagesPlus and MaxDSLR now support the Canon 400D via Shoestring Astronomy's DSUSB so the days of standing next to the mount watching the camera's display count up while holding a mechanical shutter release are, thankfully, long-gone.
