Talking My very first RGB

The good ol' dumbbell nebula. My first decent image with the ST402 I got last week. Thanks for looking!

Hi paul, it may not be the best image of M27 i've seen but it sure is a whole lot better than my first image of it. Excellent job for your first rgb.

Nice work....it is a tad soft in the focus, but the color is really quite nice

You must of had stable skies your guiding is dead on. What part of SD did to shoot this from?

hi Paul,

very good start!
guiding was A.O.K. and this is hard.
colors are very nice also!
as bud said, focus is the most difficult thing in the beginning.
it takes me frequently more than 10 minutes to find the best focus - and it absolutely worthwhile plaing around with the knob until you have the perfect focus - cos otherwise all dat is imperfect...and sometimes - you will see that (!!!) one object is pursued a whole night and more!
so once in a while (depending on the system you use (sensibilty to temperature - flexure of the focuser...) it makes sense to re-check the focus. particularily when you start at a different outside temp...that might change ov er the time you image!

good luck and enjoy!
looking forward for more!
