Default Comet Holmes?

Just got in from observing Comet Holmes for the first time...what a strange looking comet! Kinda resembles a huge, bright planetary nebula with a bright dot in the center.

Any of you CCDers out there taking photos of this?

Man, what an awesome comet. I?ve never quite seen anything like it -- very spectacular. I?ve taken quite a few images of it tonight. A couple are attached for your viewing pleasure.

Scott, great shots. I like both versions. What I saw visually was something in between. At lower mags (50x), it looked more like your first shot and at slightly higher mags(75x), I could see that the comet was a little darker on the right hand side, just like in your second shot.

Sure is a sight to see. After I first spotted it in 7x35 binoculars, I thought "wow, this is something unusual!!!" Ran inside and got the 8" Dob. It certainly does not look like any comet I've ever seen....I'm glad I've had a chance to see a "non-classical" comet.
