Default M78 In Orion

hello friends,

I had a nice few hours last night and was able to collect some more luminance on M78.

I've taken this lum and added it to an existing color shot (from the M25C) taken in Jan 2007...I think it was able to add some nice fine detail to this neat little area. The shot is about 4hours of Lum and 6hours of OneShotColor RGB, making this an LRGB image.

I really enjoy the shots that have all three types of nebula....ie Reflection, Emission and Absorption (dark)...in the same shot. The red area to the right is part of Barnards' Loop in Orion.

I hope to get much more of this area at a longer focal length once I get the new mount setup.

comments are always appreciated

Very nice Bud. Lots of detail and contrast. Very sharp.

Thanks, Diets......I've got about two weeks of bad weather started, so I'm going to try to get the new mount up and going.

This is another very well done wide field image Bud. It was interesting to see that some of the colors above and below the blue reflection nebula in your image confirm what was captured in my own image of this area a year ago. I had been wondering if I was off on my colors. After looking at your image it appears that I was pretty close. <g>

Best,
