Default M42

Hi all,

Here is my attempt at M42. I'm not sure how to get rid of the blooms in the trapezium. I used the debloomer in CCDStack to get rid of most of the blooms. Anyway, considering the after I processed the image it was clipped, it didn't turn out too badly I think. Details on the image.

Hi Paul,

I get the same blooms in the QSI532 that I bought...they use the same chip. I haven't had problem removing the blooms yet.....in CCDStack did you try "freehand draw" in the data reject procedures?.....You can try drawing in the blooms and then imputing rejected pixels.

Nice image, Paul....I really like the sensitivity of these cameras.

Bud,

Thanks for the tip.....I'm going to try that. Do you do it for each layer before making colour, or after?

Paul

Hi Paul,

I'm just learning with this stuff, also.....but, I'd do it with each layer...before the combine.....then fine tune it with the clone in PS.

Very nice. Some people take shorter exposures for the core and layer it in. Good job...
