| .....And as far as all things being equal... They never are! On a lousy night, my ploessl with it's narrower field might just give me a better view than the wider view eyepieces. That's why many of us have different types of eyepieces and you try them all until you get the best view you can on that occasion and on that object. Even the same eyepiece used with different filters will make a difference, and vice versa. So, Experiment, experiment ! But many folks will never get there, because they do not spend enough time observing an object to determine which combination gives them the most detailed view. Take your time, it's not a race. Turn off the goto now and then. Adolph

| Truth time, you can't go wrong with either. I myself just purchased, after a star party, two Naglers. One being the Nagler 12mm T2, and the other a Nagler 20mm T2. I also own the 20mm, 25mm and the 32mm Televue plossl. I've never owned a Pentax, but what i've read about them is first class. What someone has said, a star party is the place to go and try as many different ep's in YOUR scope. Mine is a LX-90 f/10 SCT a very slow scope. At NJNightSky where I've belonged for years now, we have at least 5 or 6 star parites a year. Great place to try new eps. The TeleVue line of eyepieces are also an investment. They hold onto there value for years, and right now Televue is giving all there dealers a 13% discount on all there eps less the Ethos. A great time to buy. Remember the ep that works in your scope regardless of the "price", is the one you keep. Clear skies VB |
