Default TMB Paragon

WooHoo!!! Boy, is this eyepiece something else!! I was out the other night with my new 40mm TMB Paragon, and I am very impressed. It's definitely big, but it's deceptively light. I expected it to be heavier, given the size.

Here's a good comparison. The TMB Paragon, a 2" Barlow, and a Celestron 1.25", 32mm Plossl...

This is my first real "Premium" eyepice, and it is awesome. I can see now why everyone goes nuts over any fov over 60?. The 69? in the 12" SCT was absolutely a dream. The field was sharp all the way to the edge, and the view was exceptional. I viewed many of my typical targets; Jupiter, M57, Vega, etc., and they all looked great. I never knew I was missing so many stars around M57. The field was great, even in the long focal length Cat. Now I understand why people spend what they do on Naglers. I can't wait for M42 to be out, It's got to look incredible through this ep.

The only problem with the Paragon is that it might have spoiled me for my other eyepieces, and I think I'm going to fall victim to another few eyepieces in the near future. Maybe a Nagler or two. Or maybe a few Series 5000 UWAs. I hear awesome things about those, too.

I agree, the Paragon 40 is a great EP. I used it last night with the full moon, all I can say is WOW.

This will give you an idea of what a full Moon looks like with this EP. The image is hand held. TOA 150 and Paragon 40mm.
