Hi Guy's, I figure to start off this thread, mak owners could post a picture of their mak to share with everyone.

Here's an Astro-Physics 254mm f14.6 Mak-Cass on a 900 GTO mount. Minimum 1/10 wave (system), 23% central obstruction, coma-free, permanently collimated, sophisticated design with attention to thermal control results in typical cooldown times of 15-30 minutes, the mirror retains its figure while cooling, butter-smooth focuser with no image shift, no need for focuser lock for photography, and antireflection coatings you have to (not) see to believe. Although it was designed as an ultimate lunar/planetary scope, its superb contrast makes it an excellent, albeit narrow field, deep sky scope as well. Stick a Baader MkV and Zeiss Abbe orthos in it and it just screams on the planets and the moon.

Nice scope (is that the same model that A. Friedman uses for planetary work?), put a lumenera or DMK plus filter wheel on it, and post some planetary pics for us to look at. Robert

Same scope as Alan's. I'm strictly visual at this time, used to do film a long time ago (Tech Pan) but haven't entered the digital age yet. One day...

Thanks. I'm a planetary/lunar/cluster nut and this scope is my scope of choice unless the jet stream is parked overhead, in which case I use a 6" refractor instead. The last time Mars dropped by I could see Deimos with Mars in the center of the fov, no occulting bar. Not much scatter.

Here is my MK91 made by Santel design by Andrey, Schott BK7 corrector and Sital mirror and enhanced coatings. Views are outstanding. The first night was a sky of stars with airy disks all over. The tube is of a heavier gauge aluminum than my C14 and LX200 10". The black corrector ring and rear is powercoated. Now this unit is sealed, however it seems to adjust rather well. I believe this is because of the Sital mirror.
