Default EM200 and play on the RA Axis

Hi guys...

I have a concern about my 2 weeks old EM200 Temma2Jr.
I started noticing, during the last imaging run, that if I take the
diagonal of my scope in the hands, and move it side to side very
gently...I have a very little play!! If I look at the setting circle
right below the dovetail and then move the diagonal, I can see the
play! It is less then a millimeter...maybe half.

Anyone have this in their EM200?

Thank you.

Emanuele

Hello Emanuele. A tiny bit of play is not unusual and usually of no consequence. If it really bothers you, bring the mount by and we can adjust the RA or DEC worm gear to remove the play you are talking about.

The adjustments are very slight and you don't want the gears to be too tight!!

No problem Emanuele. The Takahashi mounts are very precise and easy to adjust. You just have to be careful not to make the worm gears too tight!!

I have made these adjustments more times than I care to remember!!

Like I said if it really bothers you give me a call and we will arrange a time for you to bring it in and I can adjust it for you while you wait.
