| Here's my solution for putting my tripod in the grass. The concrete pads are 18" sqaure and rough enough on top that the tripod feet don't slip. I removed the turf under them and leveled the dirt. Then I soaked the ground and made certain the pads didn't "rock" when stepping on opposite corners.

| It looks good Ken.. What you might want to try also is to drill some small shallow holes in the concrete pads so that the tip of the tripod fits into the hole. It would make it more stable and assure that the tripod did not move at all. It also will help maintain your polar alignment and probably help tracking. Quote:
