Default Raw Data - Where Can I Get It?

I never realized how cloudy most nights are until I started acquiring telescopes

I'd like to hone my image processing skills but have a definitive lack of raw data.

Is there anywhere that raw image data is available?

While you said that in jest, I have indeed taken hours of darks and actually practiced combining - mean, average, average excluding high and low, etc.

In fairness, part of that time was becoming familiar with the image acquisition software and part just to poke around and see what a "dark" image looked like up close.

Hi Ken,

go to Jim Misti's site:

http://www.mistisoftware.com/astronomy/

scroll about half way down and you'll see the set of unprocessed images that he has available. Lots of guys have been playing with these...it think there is a link to see their versions.

Ken, how is your processing coming along with the raw data? Have you had a chance to do anything with it yet?

BTW, which program did you chose to go with for processing?

What I was really interested in doing was processing all of the subframes (lights, darks, flats). Each of the links provided here seem to have already done that - leaving only the RGBL processing to be done.

So, I'm still looking for raw data.
