New DSI II/DSI Pro II Tutorial Videos

Hi All,

I'm releasing a new set of tutorial videos for the DSI line of cameras on July 1st. They include both short exposure imaging demos with both cameras from start to completed photo and a long exposure HA imaging demo with the DSI Pro II. I'm still working on finalizing the video content and intend to add a video on LRGB flats and a few more.

I don't use the DSI, but it looks like the videos would be very helpful for someone starting out with these cameras. I really wish someone had had these available for my cameras when I started into this....I wasted/lost so much time trying to figure out just how to convert the color.

Hi Bud,

I've tried to include enough information to help anyone that's just getting started to easily learn and use the Envisage software and the DSI cameras to create photos by watching my imaging demos while I explain what I'm doing and why. The short exposure imaging demos with both the DSI II & DSI Pro II both cover software setup, taking darks, focusing, and exposure capture, then I show how to post process the auto tracked & stacked & drizzle derotated exposures into a photo using Photoshop. So that portion of the DVD is designed to take the new user from start to finish in an imaging session.

For the more experienced user I've included a long exposure narrowband demo where I capture 5 minute exposures in HA & OIII using the DSI Pro II, then I show the bi-color post processing method of turning the two photos into a full color image.

I've also included a moon imaging demo for those that are interested in imaging the moon or planets. I'm still working on the final LRGB demo video with full calibration using flats, flat darks, and bias frames. In this one I'll cover exposure and calibration frame capture with the DSI Pro II, full calibration of the exposures using AIP4WIN, and final post processing in Photoshop.

I expect the DVD to be ready to ship on July 1st to those that preordered, and on July 2nd for subsequent orders.

Heres an update on these video tutorials......

I've remastered this tutorial DVD into a commercial like version. By that I mean that they are now designed to play on a DVD player so that you can watch them on a TV using your DVD player or you can still watch them on your computer if you want. The now come in a full DVD case and are produced by a commercial DVD production company.
