Default Economy Class....

Hello, all.

Well, not high end equipment, but assembling and learning to use the gear has been most rewarding. The biggest surprise was the quality of Ha images that can be captured with a very modest short-tube achromat (120mm f/5). Using a Schuler 9nm Ha filter with a Televue 0.8x FR has proven a good combination with the Atik ATK16 camera and Orion 120ST. Only recently got autoguiding on line, the shot of IC410 on my web site is my first autoguided image. The rest of the images were manually guided...yeah, I know, now you're questioning my sanity....

You can see my Ha images @ http://www.lafterhall.com/ccd_imaging.html

Looking forward to seeing more group member toys, and astrophotos.

Cheers,
Jim

Looks good Jim,
The moonlite focusers look sweet. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Jim,

You certainly have a nice setup and everything seems very secure and robust!

What is most important is that you get out there like you are doing and use it to its full potential!!

Spending quality time under the stars is the biggest challenge at this point.

So many cool things to do, so little...etc., etc., etc......

Jim, I've been an admirer of your site and your photograhy for quite some time. I used to live over the hill from you in Brentwood and understand the limitations imposed by the area.

Keep up the great work.

HI Jim,

IIRC you also own a 150mm MAK and also IIRC I've seen a pic of it and the 120ST side by side. Is that on your GM8 or something else.

Lest I forget, you definitely have done some nice work with those two scopes and your ED80.

Happy Easter,

Mark Costello
