Default Jupiter's Clouds are Changing

I've attached a photo composite below, showing the significant changes to jupiters cloud structure following the GRS. Both of these shots were taken this week, about 8:45-9pm local, when the planet was at about 25deg elevation.

Take a look at Jupiter over the next couple weeks. You may have 30min of improved seeing around 30-60min after sundown. Even though the planet is very low, some good views may be had.

Robert, first off...excellent shots, both. And what a great comparison with them side by side. There is definetly a difference.....has this been noted on any of the "space" sites?

nice work

Excellent post Robert. I have noticed this as well. I have not been doing much imaging but mostly visual observing. There is definately a change in the cloud patterns as your images indicate.

Appreciate the comments fellows, and Bud, yes I saw a mention of the large structure changes that are taking place, in the online version of Astronomy magazine a couple weeks ago.

Better take a look now, soon they'll all rearrange into something totally new.
