Default Orion Anti-Blue Filter?

Hello to all the folks ---

The 2007 Orion Catalog shows a V-Block Anti-Fringing filter to block violet wavelengths in achromatic refractors. They state that it greatly improves image sharpness, color, contrast, and resolution.

In the past, such violet-blocking filters have given a yellow tint to planetary images. Can any forum member give us their own personal experiences with the Orion V-Block filter? How well would you say that it works? They even claim that it improves the resolution of close double stars. And I don't suppose that anyone would mind a yellow tint on lunar images, which are monochromatic anyway.

By the way, what effect would such a filter have in apos? Has anyone tried it in an apo?

Best wishes from Herbert Highstone
