Should be a great scope......is legal to still buy a really good scope/astrograph.....say an Epsilon 180 ED?.....instead of waiting for the vaporware?

My best guess is that the pricing will be just under 4k and available sometime this Spring.

It really should be an awesome instrument Bud. I know, I know about the FSQ and lack of availability but this new design should change all of that... At least we all have our fingers crossed!!

Hi Mike, I believe they increased the amount of backfocus to 178mm (now you can easily use a binoviewer), the diameter of the OTA to 125mm, the camera adjuster design (now the entire focuser rotates) and added an optional reducer that takes the f/ratio down to f/3.6 with 44mm coverage. Of course, they substituted fluorite with ED glass and perhaps the offset mounting bracket is new? I always wondered how such a short scope would be able to balance!

In short, there are a good number of changes. Just check out Brian's earlier thread on the new Q.
