Mars 12-25-2007. Eyepiece projection using Meade an LX200-8" GPS scope and 8mm-24mm Televue Zoom @ 12mm. Canon EOS 10D @ ISO 400. Stack of 10 images each @ 1/30 second exposure.



Processing: stack 10 images; RGB hue and saturation. Input/output light-levels. Low-pass kernel filter. Smart blur.



Mars detail - Hint of ice cap at 12 o'clock position. To the immediate right of the polar ice cap is a dark area named Cerberus-I . The lower hemisphere shows a darkened area called Gomer Sinus, Mare Cimmerium and Mare Chronium.
